With these placemats and coasters an instant winter feeling is created on your table.

StudioHedwig opted for a design that would remind us of knitted winter sweaters. The cables and diamond pattern is classical, but with a modern touch.

50g x Odyssey Lurex

PDF Patterns in English, Dutch, German, Spanish, and French

You will also need

4 mm / UK8 / US 6 knitting needles

4 mm Cable needle

Tapestry needle

Scissors

Row counter or notebook

Pins for blocking

Measurements:

Size placemat after blocking: Approx 30 x 40 cm

Size coasters after blocking: Approx 11 x 11 cm

Gauge:

Knit 16 stitches and 26 rows in Cable and Diamond pattern for a tension swatch of approx. 10 x 10 cm. If your swatch gets a bit smaller or larger, it is not a big problem for this design. Try a different size of knitting needles if your knitting work becomes too tight or too open.
