Proudly sustainable

At Hoooked, textile waste from European fashion factories is selected, processed and packaged in-house by the proud colleagues in the Hoooked textile recycling centre in Portugal. Working this way, Hoooked controls the textile origins, its quality, and fair labour conditions.

Hoooked Zpagetti

Zpagetti is the original jersey T-shirt yarn that got us started, often copied but never fully matched.

Zpagetti is ideal for beginners because you get a clear stitch definition and you get results very quickly. This t-shirt yarn is ideal for knitting and crocheting home décor, such as rugs, poufs and large baskets. The textile composition, elasticity and thickness of different batches of Zpagetti textile yarn can vary greatly. Please be aware of this. This jersey yarn is not standardised and cannot be re-ordered, when it is gone, it is gone as it comes from fashion industry waste and fashion is always evolving.

A large Zpagetti t-shirt yarn bobbin contains approximately 120 metres (130 yards) of thread and knits or crochets approximately 50 x 50 cm (19 x 19 inches). We crochet or knit Zpagetti textile yarn with a 10-15 mm needle size (US N15-P19) depending on the thickness of the t-shirt yarn and the desired tension of your work.

RibbonXL

RibbonXL textile yarn knits or crochets up so quickly that you will be done in no time at all! RibbonXL is a soft tape yarn made of 100% recycled cotton clips. Left-over fabric strips are selected according to colour, shredded into yarn fibre, spun again and knitted into a lightweight tube.

RibbonXL is itch-free, slightly elastic and suitable for soft toys and bulky home knits. Each bobbin of RibbonXL weighs approximately 250 grams and has a length of 120 meters (130 yards). You knit or crochet a surface of approximately 40 x 45 cm (16 x 18 inches). We recommend needle size 8-12 mm (US size L11 - Q17) depending on the desired tension of the work.

Eco Barbante

Hoooked Eco Barbante yarn is also made from recycled textiles and is produced in a sustainable way, respecting nature. Eco Barbante cotton yarn stands out for its quality, softness, beauty and versatility. This eco yarn consists of 85% recycled cotton and 15% other recycled fibres and is ideal for amigurumi, various types of home decor projects, bags and smaller projects.

Each bobbin Eco Barbante weighs about 200 grams and contains about 200 metres of yarn (218 yards).  With Eco Barbante you can crochet or knit an area of approximately 35 x 40 cm (14 x 16 inches). For best results, use our bamboo needles 4-6 mm (US size G6 – J10).

Spesso Chunky Cotton

Hoooked Spesso is a super chunky macramé cotton yarn that enables you to make the most wonderful DIY creations. This soft cotton cord has a positive environmental impact as it is made with undyed, recycled cotton fibres without any use of water.

Spesso Chunky cotton yarn is perfect to use as macramé rope, but works just as great for textured knitting, crochet and weaving. With this soft cotton rope you will make amazing DIY projects with the smoothest macramé knots and the softest fringes.

Each Spesso bobbin weighs approximately 500 grams and has a running length of approximately 127 metres (138 yards). It covers an area of approximately 40 x 45 cm (16 x 18 inches). We recommend needle size 8-10 mm (US size L11-N15) depending on the desired tension.

Soft Cotton DK

Hoooked Recycled DK cotton is made with respect for the environment and free of any additional dyes or toxic substances. And best of all: very budget friendly! This cotton yarn is super versatile and can be used for a variety of projects, such as amigurumi, summer tops, soft blankets, spring jumpers and baby items. A perfect yarn for making soft textures in both crochet and knit. The collection has 32 beautiful colours and matches perfectly the colours of our other recycled yarns, such as RibbonXL.

Soft Cotton DK is made of 80% recycled cotton and 20% other recycled fibres. Each bobbin weighs 50 grams and has approximately 85 metres of yarn (92 yards). This is a DK weight yarn and we recommend using 4 mm (US size G6) needles and hooks.

Wavy Blends

Wavy Blends are gradient yarn cakes made of recycled cotton. This gradient yarn is inspired by the beautiful colour flows of wild oceans and natural rivers. The colour combinations are made with the most popular RibbonXL colour variations, making it a perfect yarn to combine in projects using this textile yarn. Each Wavy Blends bobbin gradually fades from one shade to the next, creating a beautiful colour flow in your project.

Wavy Blends is made of 80% recycled cotton yarn and 20% other recycled fibres. Each bobbin weighs 250 grams (8.82 oz) and has approximately 260 metres (284 yards) of yarn. We recommend using 6-7 mm (US size J10-10.75) needles and hooks.

100% Natural Jute

This 100% Natural Jute yarn from the Amazons is a fair-trade yarn made without the use of fertilizer or pesticides by a BCS-certified sustainable family-owned company in Brazil. This means that this jute is produced while leaving the forest and natural vegetation intact.

 Jute is a sturdy 100% vegetable fibre and offers a wide range of crafty possibilities for indoor and outdoor projects. Its natural properties ensure a fully biodegradable final product. Our Jute collection is available in a range of seven toxic-free pastel colours.

Each Hoooked jute bobbin weighs approx. 350 grams and has 45 meters length (49 yards). You can knit or crochet a surface of approx 30 x 30 cm (12 x 12 inches). We recommend to work with needles 10-15 mm (Us size N15-P19).

Jute yarn has shade variances between different batches. Differences in climate may affect the crop and the way it responds to the natural dyes we use. We advise you to consult with us, should you want to re-order the same colour of a previous purchase.

Eucalyps

Eucalyps is a soft and silky plant-based yarn with a beautiful, subtle shine. Like our other yarns, Eucalyps is a sustainable choice for knitters and crocheters. We only use eucalyptus trees from sustainably managed European forests, and the environmentally friendly yarn production process takes place in a closed loop: the raw materials used are also reused. But Eucalyps isn’t just great for the environment: this plant-based yarn is beautiful, luxuriously soft, and highly absorbent. That makes this yarn ideal for crafting clothes and other accessories!

Hoooked Eucalyps is sold in individual bobbins of 100 grams with of 165 metres length (180 yards). For the best results, use 4-5 mm (Us size G6-H8) crochet hooks or knitting needles!

Somen

Somen is cool and airy, making it a great plant-based yarn for knitting and crocheting clothing and fashion items. Hoooked Somen is made by combining recycled cotton with sustainably grown flax, creating a soft but strong thread. Textile waste is shredded and combined with linen fibres to create a cotton-linen yarn that is perfect for crafting summer clothes.

Somen is made of 60% recycled cotton and 40% natural linen in beautiful natural colours. Hoooked Somen is sold in individual bobbins of 100 grams with 165 metres (180 yards). We recommend using 4-5 mm (US size G6-H8) knitting needles or crochet hooks.

Atlantica

Atlantica is inspired by the ocean and is a sustainable combination of a seaweed-infused fibre (SeaCell™), recycled cotton, and organic cotton. This wonderful yarn is soft to the touch and is
perfect for making beautiful garments and fashion accessories, and lovely baby items. Incorporating SeaCell™ in yarns offers comfort and care to the skin, thanks to the seaweed’s calming effect on the skin. SeaCell™ LT is made out of sustainable raw materials, such as woodfibres and seaweed. This eco - friendly fibre contains finely ground Icelandic seaweed from a unique ecosystem and is rich in vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and minerals.

Tossa

Tossa is now part of the 100 % natural jute collection, containing the same properties as Hoooked 100 % natural Jute. Its 2 mm wide yarn makes it a more versatile and infinitely more flexible yarn, allowing you to crochet and create stunning crochet projects also with jute. Jute offers a wide range of crafty possibilities for indoor and outdoor projects.

Hoooked Tossa – 100 % Natural Jute yarn from the Amazons is made without the use of fertilizer or pesticides by a BCS-certified sustainable family-owned company in Brazil. Its natural properties ensure a fully biodegradable final product.

Tossa is available in a range of seven toxic-free pastel colours. Tossa is sold in individual bobbins of 50 grams (83 metres) and 100 grams (165 metres), so make sure to select enough for your project.

Cordino

Cordino is made of 100% recycled yarn, of which 80% is cotton and 20% other recyled fibres.

This cord yarn is perfect for macramé and also a great yarn to crochet and knit with. Cordino is 3 mm wide and available in a range of 32 colours. No dyeing or other additives are applied when creating it.

Washing instructions

We advise you to treat your delicate and handmade creations with extra care. All Hoooked yarns are machine washable at low temperatures. Remove all accessories such as buttons, zippers or bag handles and wash the item inside out in an old pillowcase. Use a mild soap and wash the item using the handwashing program (30-40 degrees Celsius or for US readers 85-105 degrees Fahrenheit) with similar colours. Allow the creation to dry lying it flat and, if necessary, iron it carefully with a steam iron for a smooth result.
