DIY Knitting Pattern Bath Mat Loopely

Everybody needs a bath mat. Why not knit your own?

Designed by isanasfeitoamao by Isabel Nascimento from Companhia das Agulhas in Portugal, this project uses just one ball of Hoooked yarn Wavy Blends, ensuring a 'one ball project' with no leftover yarn. The pattern includes instructions for enlarging the mat if desired, requiring additional yarn.

Wavy Blends is a variegated yarn that produces captivating stripes as you knit. It has 9 different amazing colour gradients you can choose from. This project was intentionally designed to be a mindful knit, featuring no increases or decreases with no yarn change. It is worked flat using the single-loop knitting stitch.

If you need guidance on this special stitch, check out the supporting video tutorial on the Hoooked YouTube channel. Although the single-loop stitch may pose a challenge initially, mastering it becomes easy with some practice. The resulting fluffy effect is incredibly rewarding. Few things are as delightful as sinking your bare feet into a soft, plush rug.

250g x Wavy Blends, by Hoooked

7 mm / US 10,5 Circular knitting needles

Tapestry needle

Scissors

Measuring tape

Measurements

Width: 52 cm (stripes direction)

Length: 38 cm (5.5 stripes)

Gauge

Knit 9.5 stitches and 16 rows for a tension swatch of 10 cm x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in) using 7 mm

knitting needles in single loop stitch, washed and blocked, (it is important to wash and dry your

swatch since your stitch count can change after the first wash).

If your swatch is smaller or bigger, we recommend using another size knitting needle to

avoid deviations.
